President Obama's health care reform is not targeting the elderly or the unborn. Nor are provisions to pay doctors to assist with living wills anything like "death boards" as Sarah “I can see Russia from my front porch” Palin alleges. And nowhere in the legislation being considered is the word "abortion."
Yes the so-called "safety net" is already in place. Emergency rooms are obligated to provide health care to whomever enters, however, we all pay for it. It is time that a real "safety net" be established providing everyone in this country basic health care, something every industrialized society all ready has. Isn't this "promoting the general welfare" as noted in the Constitution? If everyone in this country could see their doctor whenever needed there would be less usage of emergency rooms as well as more preventive care, thus reducing the total cost of health care for all.
Bottom line, Did not Jesus teach us not to bear false witness? You should be ashamed of yourselves for printing this rag called the "metro Voice." I will begin contacting your advertisers and ask they remove their advertising.
You criminals are behind the assassination of Dr. George Tiller and are now threatening the President of the United States as well as our own Congressman Dennis Moore. Shame on you false Christians.
No wonder Ghandi said he would become a Christian if it wasn't for the "Christians."

HEALTH CARE PROPOSALS SCARY
These are highlights from the first 500 of the 1018 page proposed healthcare bill. Each page "costs" about one billion dollars. You might want to read the list and see if any of these points will help you, your families, your friends, your parents.
• Page 29: Admission: your health care will be rationed!
• Page 42: The "Health Choices Commissioner" will decide health benefits for you. You will have no choice. None.
• Page 50: All non-US citizens, illegal or not, will be provided with free healthcare services.
• Page 59: The federal government will have direct, real-time access to all individual bank accounts for electronic funds transfer.
• Page 65: Taxpayers will subsidize all union retiree and community organizer health plans (read: SEIU, UAW and ACORN)
• Page 95: The Government will pay ACORN and Americorps to sign up individuals for Government-run Health Care plan.
• Page 145: An employer MUST auto-enroll employees into the government-run public plan. No alternatives.
• Page 126: Employers MUST pay healthcare bills for part-time employees AND their families.
• Page 149: Any employer with a payroll of $250-$400K or more, who does not offer the public option, pays a 2% - 8% tax on payroll.
• Page 167: Any individual who doesn’t have acceptable healthcare (according to the government) will be taxed 2.5% of income.
• Page 170: Any NON-RESIDENT alien is exempt from individual taxes (Americans will pay for them)
• Page 203: "The tax imposed under this section shall not be treated as tax." Yes, it really says that.
• Page 239: Bill will reduce physician services for Medicaid. Seniors and the poor most affected."
• Page 253: Government sets value of doctors' time, their professional judgment, etc.
• Page 272: Cancer patients: welcome to the wonderful world of rationing!
• Page 321: Hospital expansion hinges on "community" input: in other words, yet another payoff for ACORN.
• Page 354: Government will restrict enrollment of SPECIAL NEEDS individuals.
• Page 430: Government will decide what level of treatments you may have at end-of-life.
If you have any issues call your congressmen and women and tell them about your concerns. I promise you that they count every letter, email, or call. Send this to your friends and family so that they can read this list. Let them evaluate this list and see if this is the way they want our new health care to look.
